Mike Bonafede has over thirty-five years of experience handling legal matters and helping people with their legal problems and concerns.
After graduating from the University of Denver Law School, Mike was a Deputy District Attorney in Jefferson County, Colorado from 1974 to 1980. In his position he handled a variety of criminal prosecutions including complex white-collar crimes.
In 1980 he was appointed a Special Assistant Attorney General and a Special Deputy District Attorney. He worked in a combined unit, made up of members of the Attorney Generals Office, the Colorado District Attorneys Association and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, to bring statewide prosecution of Medicaid fraud crimes.
In 1981 Mike moved to Loveland and opened his private practice. He has also served as Municipal Judge in Berthoud and Mead Colorado.
He is one of the referral attorneys for the National Education Association and the Colorado Education Association.
Mike has been married for 32 years, he has five children and eight grandchildren (and still counting).
Mike enjoys American History. He has published a map of the Little Big Horn Battlefield, showing the archeological discoveries at the site. He also developed a web site about the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
